Post Marine Becomes NMMA Certified
Builder
meets stringent set of requirements to earn
"NMMA Certified" designation
|
|
Mays Landing, NJ – Post Marine of
Mays Landing, New Jersey has been certified
under the National Marine Manufacturers
Association's Certification Program.
While all boats in the United States must
meet U.S. Coast Guard regulations, boats
built by manufacturers participating in the
NMMA Certified Program must also meet the
more comprehensive standards set by the
American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC).
Furthermore, to become NMMA Certified, a
boat must pass rigorous third-party
inspection to ensure that it meets and
adheres to all applicable standards.
"Earning the 'NMMA Certified' designation is
a major achievement for Post Marine," says
Post President Ken Jensen. "It demonstrates
to our customers that we're committed to
building a quality product and have the
utmost concern for their safety and well
being."
The NMMA Certification program covers more
than 30 categories of standards, which vary
by boat type and size and may include: fuel
systems; ventilation; passenger and weight
capacity; horsepower capacity; flotation;
electrical systems; navigation lights;
warning label placement and guidelines; and
steering systems.
Headquartered in Mays Landing, Post Marine
builds yachts in the 42 to 56-foot range for
both sport fishing and long-range cruising.

One Hundred Post Fifties |
|
First launched
in 1989, with the speed, range, performance,
comfort and fish-raising ability of a
serious tournament contender, the Post 50
was an instant success. A testament to the
yacht's continued popularity among serious
anglers is Hull #100 -- recently sold by
Black Pearl Yacht Sales, of Marco Island,
Florida.
The 50's new
owner, a long-time boater who had put over
2,000 hours on his previous boat, chose the
Post 50 over several Viking and Buddy Davis
models. When asked why, his response had a
ring of familiarity to it. He felt the
Post's interior fit and finish was superior,
and an obvious indication of the yacht's
overall quality. As one who has always
skippered his own boats, he was also
favorably impressed with the 50's
performance and handling characteristics. Of
particular interest were his comments
concerning engine placement (slightly
outboard of those on similar size yachts).
Aside from a more spacious engine room, he
felt that the position of the props (a
little further apart) made pivoting the 50
easier when backing down.
According
to the folks at Black Pearl Yacht Sales,
Hull #100 will remain in the Southeast --
between Key West, Florida and Corpus
Christi, Texas. Black Pearl is currently
awaiting delivery of a new Post 42. For

A Look At The Sleek Post 53 |
|
 |
The design team at Post Yachts
spends a lot of time listening at boat shows, owners' events and to
their dealers. So, when requests for a model between the current 50
and 56 footers capable of accommodating two couples surfaced, the
concept for the new Post 53 was born.
Through the design process,
strategic changes were made that give the 53 a stylish new look,
enhanced performance and amenities that are sure to please the most
discerning enthusiast.
The sleek lines created by combining the classic Post sheer with a more dramatic
rake from the foredeck to the flybridge makes this thoroughbred look like she's at a
full gallop while still at the dock. A massive cockpit features glassed-in joints with
soft corners for a unitized appearance, and includes a complete rigging station and live
well molded in to the transom. The salon is classic Post with a generous lounge area,
fully equipped galley with Corian® counter tops and an entertainment center with big-
screen television. The cabinetry and paneling of beautiful hand-rubbed woods is
reminiscent of old-world craftsmanship. No other yacht company compares with Post's
joinery work and glass-like features.
The Post 53 features a pair of master suites, each with a walk-around double bed,
head with shower and abundant draw and hanging storage space. They are
complemented by twin bunk bedroom and laundry facilities. The engine room houses
the gen set astern of the engines for easy access and a pair of 1,000 hp Caterpillar C18
diesels, which will push her to cruising speeds in excess of 30 knots, while retaining
all the sea keeping ability that makes a Post Yacht so desirable. The spacious bridge
offers more seating, more rod and gear storage and even an optional refrigerator.

Post engineers have incorporated stronger, lighter-weight laminates and coring
materials into the construction and lay-up process, which reduces overall weight
while increasing rigidity and strength. The result is more speed with less power
and improved fuel efficiency. Post still manufactures its boats by building each design
segment inside the hull instead of cutting corners by using modular construction
methods. The difference in fit, finish and durability is unmistakable. You'll never
experience flexing, creaking or cracking of interior sections in a Post Yacht.
The new 53 is everything you have come to expect from limited production Post
Yachts and much more. |
